I’m Lorinda, the creator of Scribit. Born in Los Angeles, I grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland and I earned my master’s degree in English at Dundee University before moving to New York in 2000. In 2020, I took a three-year cultural ‘timeout’ in the Netherlands, returning to New York in 2023, when I started working on the idea of a writer’s community. Scribit is a writing space built on a simple idea: focus. No ads, no algorithms, just your words and a community that cares about them.

Whether you’re outlining a new idea or putting the final polish on a manuscript, you’ll find what you need. Dive into a Daily Challenge to spark your creativity, find a writing partner to stay accountable, or get thoughtful feedback from peers who understand.
